HELSINKI. A police officer with the Helsinki Police Department is suspected of a serious sexual offense.

The officer is suspected of committing rape.

The police officer under suspicion is connected to a case that the Helsinki Police Department began investigating in the spring of 2024. The Helsinki Police Department has suspended the officer from duty.
